The CANSail programs are made up of core standards that promote progressive training of core dinghy sailing skills and knowledge. CANSail programming means lots of time on the water in a safe, fun, and active learning environment. Participants learn the skills and enter into fun and challenging experiences suited to their age and stage of development. The programming is designed to get – and keep – sailors excited about sailing for life! CANSail Programs are delivered with the goal of fostering performance in sailing and lifelong participation in the sport. All participants in All our programs are provided with a Transport-Canada approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD). The proper use of the PFD is strictly enforced.
Introduction to sailing for sailors aged five to eight years of age and designed for implementation in an Optimist Dinghy. The curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching methods are specific to engaging this young group while inadvertently teaching them about sailing boats, water safety, fundamental movement and balance skills in Optimist Dinghies and at dockside.
